Original soviet russian jacket. World war ii (? ) army pioneer insignia. We believe this (heavy, prboably very warm! ) coat may be wwii vintage. The buttons appear to be the plastic ytpe sent to the soviet union during ww2 from the united states through the lend-lease program (our reference is the schiffer book on russian uniforms 1917 1945). The style and materials do ont appear to be modern. However, we can't interpret the data stamp print inside the lower left side (see photo). It's badly faded.
We did receive one opinion that thsi is post-ww2, so we have priced this accordingly. There is writing on the left interior breast pocket (possibly a name katya which would indicate a female soldier). The metal insignia on the collar tab is that of pionere or engineer troop units. This tunic appears to be complete, with all buttons and the mteal collar closure. It obviously ahs seen service (there is fraying of a corner or two), but there is no real damage or odor. It's very wearable.
It is now against russian law to remove uniforms & similar items of older vintage from russia they are considreed national treasure by law.
